Human_development 02 Development

How does a state of liveness translate into a physical presence and where can it place its appearance and matter? How will the current situation shape future art platform? In response to the above questions, creative technologists use new media in a particular volume of space, transforming it into a place of communication where the experience of both physicality and virtuality becomes possible. With an understanding of data integration through multi-disciplinary research between art and technology, our work incorporates machine learning algorithms and code-based illustrations in the Satellite Project.

Participating Artists

Nicole Hauck

With her work the artist Nicole Hauck is exploring the boundaries of Reality. Focused on social justice and intersectional feminism she is questioning the limits of right and wrong and systems of oppression. Her art is an ongoing search for new possibilities of self empowerment and political awareness. Developing a metaphorical language which works with the synesthesia of pictures, sound and material astethics she creates hypnotical surroundings that seem to be aggressiv and gentle at the same time. Influencend by her studies of epistemological philosophy, feministic analytical philosophy and filmtheory, her work plays with the spectators’ consciousness and creates a wide spectrum of associations and contrasts. Nicole Hauck is a german installation and video artist, living and working in berlin. She is enrolled as fine art student at UdK and finished her philosophy studies at FU Berlin in 2020. She studied under installation Artist Tilman Wendland, Monica Bovicini, and now Paint Artist Valérie Favre aswell as Philosophers such as Prof. Dr. Barbara Vetter, Dr. Hilkje Hänel and Prof. Dr. Alexander Gracía Düttmann.

Kilian Heindl

Kilian Heindl, born in 1994 in Venice. Studied at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart and Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. An essential aspect of his work are above all organicmaterials, which are processed with scientifically founded theories. Consciously, the current level ofreality is called into question, in which an instinctive confrontation with the timeless organicmaterial is forced. Situations arise. Familiar materials are shown in an unusual way. This opens up adirect psychic contact with dead or living material.

Nam is enrolled as a Fine Art student with Monica Bonvicini at the Universität der Künste in Berlin and Architecture with Donatella Fioretti at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. He has previously worked in Photography and Visual Media in Seoul, where he also obtained a qualification in psychology counseling. Creative Technologists

Youngjun Chang

A creative technologist and theatre designer, who is from south korea, using new media in a particular volume of space, transforming it into an interactive media performance. By breaking down the borders between audience and space, he has extended the relationship between theatrical performance and technology, representing physicality into multi-sensory experience through other mediums such as spatial computing and data visualisation from the body and space. In his works, he has added depth to the mobilisation of data, from simple pixels and signals found in images, and videos, to more complex communications used in Machine Learning and AI. With open access to the internet, he has made algorithms to become ubiquitous throughout digital space. Furthermore, with proliferation of such algorithms on the internet, technology such as deepfake has enabled datafication of reality; it imitates, even transcends human perception.

Llorenc Garcia

Llorenç Garcia Bas is a London based digital artist, creative technologist and sound designer from Barcelona. His main art practices take influence from compositional sound design and electronic music techniques where he extracts new shapes of music production in order to create immersive experiences. His works take on the shape of sound sculptures, intended to bring a modernized perspective to sound art practices, inviting entry into unexpected sonic landscapes. Sonic Immersivity is presented as a way to explore consciousness and human perception where they are challenged by generative art manifestations. Making use of a combination of analogue and digital technologies, as a meeting of past and future, he combines traditional music production techniques with more novel forms of technology such as coding and Artificial Intelligence – including machine learning, and facial recognition – for data sonification and visualization
